Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe was raised by an ethnically mixed family. Her father is Nigerian and Swiss as well as her mother is English. She was born in the south London Council Estate and was a student at The Brit School aged 14. In London, she studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in which her acting diploma was earned. She was on stage in many productions while attending school including King Henry V, as Princess Katherine and Wuthering Heights, as Catherine Earnshaw.
Madekwe got her start in acting by starring in a movie titled Storm Damage. Since then she's made guest appearances in films like Teachers, Doctors Casualty Drop Dead Gorgeous. Madekwe's debut film role was Woody Allen's Cassandra's Dream (2007), with Colin Farrell. In the wake of that film's success she was cast as Elisha in the one-off BBC Three drama pilot West 10 LDN which aired in 2007 and she also appeared in six episodes of Trexx and Flipside playing Ollie. In 2008, the actress was offered Bambi as the main character on ITV2's show Secret Diary of a Call Girl. Madekwe also starred as the lead character in How to lose friends & betray people that was aired by Sony Pictures Entertainment in 2008. Her theatre credits include Little Sweet Thing by Roy Williams and Flight Path by David Watson.
Madekwe was cast as Ashley Davenport on the ABC drama The Beautiful Life. The two-episode show aired only for two weeks on The CW and then it came to an end. Ashley Davenport was her role in ABC's drama Revenge. The show premiered in May 2013 and it was revealed that Madekwe, who had been a series regular in the two previous seasons, was to leave the series with a guest appearance on the first episode of the new season. In the television series Salem the actress played Tituba from 2014 until 2016. Her long-time friend, Iddo, married Madekwe in June of 2012. Apart from Secret Diary of a Call Girl They have also collaborated with each other on Salem and Iddo Goldberg had part in the show with her. the show on TV.
Ashley Leggat, a twice Gemini nominated actress, is a member of a huge family in Hamilton, Ontario. Ashley Leggat joined Roy and Patty as well her older siblings: Brett, Todd and Bram and Rob. Ashley's sports brothers were avid baseball players during the summer months and hockey during winters. Ashley didn't walk, instead she was a dancer. At age two and half she discovered Baby Ballet. Ashley was hooked on dance immediately. Ashley competed in tap, jazz and ballet in high divisions. She won the top soloist at each of the most prestigious dance competitions like, International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers 5-6-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, and Dance, Dance, Dance to name a few.
