Adele
Adele Mara (April 28, 1923 until May 7 in 2010) was an American singer, actress and dancer in films in the 1940s, 1950s, as well as on television in the 1950s, 1960s and later. Adele St. Mara was her name professionally. She got an endorsement from Columbia Pictures[citation required.] and gained experience working with the studio's comedy shorts as well as "B" features. This was soon shortened to Adele Mara. Mara started her professional career as a receptionist the Three Stooges movie I Can Hardly Wait. Mara and Leslie Brooks played the sisters of Rita Hayworth's character the Fred Astaire film You Were Never Lovelier. She is the character Alias Boston Blackie (1942) in the role of the sister of an unjustly accused and released convict. She moved to Republic Pictures after her Columbia contract was terminated. She was employed in westerns and outdoor adventures. She was a part of in The Vampire's Ghost, Wake of the Red Witch starring John Wayne, Angel In Exile (leading woman), Sands of Iwo Jima in which John Agar's lover, California Passage, and Don Siegel's Count the Hours.
